This
is one of my dearly loved from childhood. I make it for my kids and
they so love it! Of course I had to do my own personal adjustments to
make it a step above. Sorry mom, but I know you would so approve if you
could taste it.
Ingredients:
2 lbs. lean ground beef
Black pepper (to your desire)
1 tsp each garlic/onion powder
Brown together till done, drain and put into soup pot.
Add the following:
2 cans beef consomme
2 cans evaporated milk
4 cups whole milk
2 capfulls of gravy base
1 capfull liquid smoke
3 celery stalks (sliced how thick you like)
1-1/2 Tab minced onion (dry)
1 Tab minced fresh garlic
½ cup or 4oz slivered carrotts
1 cup dry flavored rice or 2 cups cooked rice
1 large velveeta cheese (yes, the whole thing)!
Let simmer low and slow if to hot it will curdle the cheese and milk.
