Indian cuisine depends on which region of India you are in. There are five different regions in India. They are north, eastern, southern, western and north eastern. Indian food has mostly been vegetarian, with rice being its staple. The main staple that they use is curry. Curry is usually fried in a type of vegetable oil. Tea is also the main beverage in India. There are 25 spices that are mainly used, including chili pepper and pulses. Coconut milk gives it its richness. Lime juice can be added to give it the tartness necessary. They are freshly prepared, and, once they are done, herbs are added for decoration and aroma. One of the most amazing things about Indian cuisine is that there really are no recipes. Most of the dishes have been handed down from generation to generation. Each generation has added its own uniqueness to the dishes.India has such a diverse group of people, cultures and religion that its food is also so diverse. The one thing that remains constant throughout each region is the ancient science system. This system focuses on health, diet, and nutrition. The meat that is used in Indian recipes is usually goat, lamb or chicken. Indians do not use much beef, as they consider the cow sacred.Indian food was mainly known for its heat. But, until the 15th century, black pepper was the only spice added for heat.Indian foodis also known for its variety of sweets, which are largely prominent in eastern Indian culture. I love to try different cultures cuisine.
