Easy Chinese Recipes

Photobucket
In the 21st century, Chinese food is as American as apple pie. North Americans love their Chinese food, and they can find it just about anywhere, from top notch Chinese restaurants to mall kiosks. Ingredients for all sorts of recipes can be found in the ethnic sections of regular grocery stores or special Chinese markets for those who wish to take on the task of creating Chinese dishes at home.

Whether authentic Chinese food or Americanized, Chinese food can be relatively easy to make, even for beginners. A really great, really simple recipe is everyone's favorite classic, Chinese Fried Rice. All you need are a couple of green onions, two large eggs, a smidgen of salt and pepper to taste, four tablespoons of oil for stir frying, and four cups of cooked rice. Try an aromatic rice like jasmine or basmati. You'll also need a couple of tablespoons of light soy sauce.

Preparing the meal is as easy as gathering the ingredients. Beat the eggs, adding the salt and pepper, and finely chop the green onion. Heat a wok, a frying pan, or skillet, adding the oil. Scramble the eggs in the oil. Remove the eggs and add the rice. Stir in the soy sauce, then add the scrambled eggs and the green onion. Voila! To add some substance, add bacon, pork, or chicken, finely chopped. This is only one of many simple recipes found in books or on the web. Another great meal is simply dressing up Top Ramen noodles. Just add some green onions and some barbecued pork, and you have an easy meal. Grab some chopsticks and enjoy!
