Beat the Heat with Chilled Summer Soups!"

Photobucket
Remember the days back before there was air conditioning, and when only the rich could afford it. People were always looking for ways to beat the summer heat, sitting on porches sipping ice tea or water and munching on fresh fruits or vegetables, fanning ourselves or wiping the sweat from our faces. Heating up the kitchen then, by cooking a large 3 to 5 course meal, was so uncomfortable, and eating heavy during the hot months just seem to make you wish you hadn't eaten at all. I was reading an article at www.homestylerecipecooking.com about Summertime Soup Ideas. This is a very nice website with some great recipes and information.

Chilled summer soups became very popular. They are light and easy to make. They are tasty and healthy because the majority of them were made from the vegetables grown out in the garden. New varieties pop up each year, and more and more restaurants around the world are adding them to their summer menus, some year round. Sometimes served with cold meat or vegetable sandwiches, they are on the list right up there with salads, which has always been one of the most popular summer meal dishes. So get on over to www.homestylerecipecooking and give a recipe a try.
