 | If you are embarking on the journey of a low fat or fat free diet, you may be thinking you will never have another satisfying meal. Well, think again. There are many vegetables that are not only fat free, but filling and tasty. What you need to keep in mind, is that the fat you ADD to the vegetable is what you need to avoid. Adding dressings, gravies and butter will negate what you are trying to accomplish.
It doesn’t have to be Thanksgiving to enjoy a baked sweet potato that is filled with vitamins, nutrients and fiber and it can be very filling.

Bite for bite, substituting a sweet potato for a white potato will give
you far more nutrients and fiber, since you eat must the skin of a
white potato to get most of the value, and you can enjoy it without the
added fat of gravy, butter or sour cream. If you must have
your burgers, substitute half of your lean ground meat for shredded
vegetables. Carrots, zucchini and onions will make a flavorful burger
on a whole wheat bun. Try to avoid fatty dressing on the burger, use
flavorful mustard instead. If you
must have cheese, avoid processed cheeses, hard cheeses generally have
less fat, and if you shred it, you will use less and still have the
flavor. You can get some great information by clicking hereSalads
are usually our first choice when thinking fat free, but, most lettuces
are mainly water and offer fewer nutrients than other vegetables, so
try adding different raw veggies to your salad and remember that it is
the dressings you chose that add the fat. Check the USDA
site for nutrition values in vegetables, and keep in mind that these
values are for RAW vegetables. The more you cook your vegetables, the
more nutrients you lose. There are also many sites that will offer low fat or no fat recipes like Kiss The Diet Cook!
